You didn't think Nenderie was just my name on Deviantart did you? Nope, there's a character that the name belongs to. This is Nenderie, my Bernese Mountain Dog character. The fur markings are unusual for the breed, but nobody said they had to be normal. I created the character after the name though. This is a colored template that I did not draw. I am working on my own drawing of her now, just wait and it'll be done soon.
Nenderie is a kind dog. She loves to talk with other dogs, and is social. She is independent though, and can entertain herself easily. Humans she is kind to, and will follow them around, but isn't much of a guard. To her they are just more friends, but not close enough to protect. She helps others willingly, and is a great friend. She has no bad side really, she won't push others around, but won't be pushed around herself. She does not fight, or get agressive, and is calm. She can be called Nenderie or Nend. She follows commands well, and comes when her name is called. She is intellagent, but doesn't show it off.
Her history is not the nicest thing. She was born to a purebred family at a breeders house. Nenderie was the largest of all the puppies, and grew the fastest. She was taken to a new home first, and for a while thought everything was fine. She played and ran around the house all day. This drove her owners nuts and they started throwing her outside, literally throwing, everytime she tried to chew anything, or play. She learned quickly to go outside, not in the house. She learned that playing so much may not have been a good idea. She adjusted her behavior slightly, and stayed calm for a bit, sleeping on the couch and being a quiet dog, but her owners didn't like that either. They still threw her out when she got on the couch, or got in their way. She got tired of acting tired and played around outside. Eventually she was tied up in the backyard on a short chain. She never went inside, and food came rarely. She grew, the collar digging into her neck. It hurt and she whimpered and howled when the pain started. Her neck got thicker, and the chain stayed the same. She eventually layed down and didn't get up for a couple weeks. Her neck hurt like nothing she had never felt before, the chain keeping her tied to the tree still short. The owners never came near the tree or that side of the yard. She would bark once when they came out and started to play with their children close to the house. Nenderie's kind nature neer left her in those weeks. When the children came over to her one day they started to pet her and feed her parts of their snack, but the adults yelled at them and pulled them away. Nenderie started to loose all hope. When to men came to the house one day and came into the backyard with Nenderie's owners following, Nenderie thought nothing of it. They were probably some of the owners' friends. When one of the men came over to her, the other and the owners standing behind and watching, she whimpered and layed her head on her paws. The man offered her food, and talked gently and kindly. Nenderie didn't listen to the words, but more the tone of his voice. She refused to take the treats no matter how much her stomache told her to take it. The chain in her neck made every move of her head painful, trying to eat the grass even hurt. Something was different about the two men who had come, and Nenderie knew something was good about them. Her thoughts were confirmed when the cut the cain from the tree. The had a rope around her neck, above where the chain was, and a long pole had been attached to the rope. They led her out of the yard and into a car. She followed slowly her large body thin, each bone could be felt even with her long fur. The two men took her from the house to a large building where they fed her, gave her water, and even took the chain from her neck. She stayed there for a while, the wound on her neck healing. She gained wait, and when they moved her to another part of the building after a month, she was like a healthy new dog. Her kind nature made everyone there love her, and the two men who had saved her came back at times and played with her. Because of her last owners she stayed calm, and did not play as rough as many dogs, but she played when given the chance.
Just to let you know, the place she went to was an animal shelter, though that was pretty obvious. In my roleplays that I host, it is at the ASPCA, and one of the two men is my Humane Law Enforcement (HLE) officer Kyle Gertz. Kyle is the guy who came up to Nenderie and offered the treat. The history sort of explains her personality a bit.
Her place in most things is a dog for an animal shelter roleplay, or a street dog roleplay. She can be a part of family rp's as well. She shows up in Cansaro's Story, a story about my little puppy character. In that story she shows up closer to the end, or in the middle. That story is not complete yet.

No stealing either the template or the character! That includes her personality and history.
I may, or may not bring her here and roleplay her. This is just art and her story. I am still thinking about wether I should.
